Of the 5 books nominated, two books published by TRIP were selected : TIBONOM by Billy Mavreas and SILENT WORLDS by Carlos Santos.
On June 1st, Carlos Santos won with SILENT WORLDS. Drawing comics in Quebec for almost 20 years, the artist’s refined linework coupled with a 9 panel grid over a 40 pages narrative won the jury over.
TRIP comix is proud to publish Carlos Santos. We also want to thank Eric Bouchard for writing an enlighting essay on Santos included in the book. TRAUMSTADTDENKEN by Rupert Bottenberg won in the same category last year.

Come say hi to our artists : Rupert Bottenberg, FREDC, Matthew Brown, Tang-Wei Hsu, Marc Tessier and Stanley Wany.
TRIP comix brings you the latest issue of Trip magazine. More than 360 pages filled with comics by artists from Quebec, Europe, the United states, and Canada. With a special section on Finnish comics and an amazing cover by Tin Can Forest.
Tang-Wei Hsu’s CITY CARRIERS reveals an unknown biological system, delineating the fantasy of civilization and recording the course of speciation — a new ecotype that propagates after time and space have been compressed. Hsu draws from the imagery of astronomy, anime and architecture to create an ecological expression full of imagination informed by the Eastern visual experience and vocabulary.

A perpetual motion device, Circulus Is th second book from Rupert Bottemberg (Traumstadtdeken). win teen science ninjas patrol opposing zones, light and dark, of an infinitely cyclical labyrinth.
